  1. Bat Boy Vanishes! Leaves Trail of Destruction

[Picture of Bat Boy, having feasted on the blood of a newly-murdered cow]

Glasgow, Tuesday, We can exclusively report that Bat Boy has once again eluded police, goverment agents and the cast of a local theatre group, and has very possibly left Glasgow.

    half-human freak

After a week terrorising theatregoers at Gilmorehill G12, the half-human freak [en.wikipedia.org] exited the stage, leaving behind the dead bodies of the Parker and Taylor families of Hope Falls, WV, and almost 1000 traumatised theatre patrons.

    powerful

Witnesses, visibly shaken, were heard to describe the bloody spectacle as “powerful” and “a great production”.

  2. Roman Invaders Carry Off Spoils

Pantheon were delighted to pick up some Waterford Crystal from the recent Waterford Festival of Light Opera for our production of A Funny Thing Happened on The Way to The Forum:

[David Robertson as Hysterium The Slave]David Robertson won Best Comedian for his rôle as Hysterium. According to Waterford’s The Munster Express: “David Robertson was a howl as the house slave Hysterium and his work in Everybody Ought To Have A Maid and I'm Calm were highlights of the show. His antics as a dead virgin were excellent.” (read the full review)

[Elaine Wilkie as Pseudolus]Elaine Wilkie was nominated for Best Comedienne for her rôle as Pseudolus. “Pantheon's Elaine Wilkie was wonderful in the role and she drove the pace along with some great routines from The Crankies to Frankie Howerd.” —The Munster Express

[Miche Clarke, Protean][Gillian Freshney, Protean]Michele Clarke & Gillian Freshney (who “added much to the mayhem”!) were nominated jointly for Best Supporting Woman.

Well done to all. The Festival Website has the full list of 2006 winners [homepage.ntlworld.ie].

  3. Romans Invade Ireland

A Funny Thing Happened on The Way to Waterford. We were delighted to stage our June production of A Funny Thing Happened on The Way to The Forum at The 48th International Festival of Light Opera in Waterford, Ireland.

We performed for one night, Saturday 23 September, at The Theatre Royal, Waterford [theatreroyalwaterford.com], (then drank Guinness long into the night).

Thanks to the people of Waterford for giving us a very warm reception. Both cast and audience seemed to enjoy the night hugely.

This year’s Festival [waterfordfestival.com] runs from 20 September to 1 October, and features 9 different musicals from all over Ireland and the UK. It takes place in the south-east corner of Ireland, in the town which is home to the world-famous Waterford crystal.
