Alan Fraser

Alan was absolutely thrilled to land the part of Riff in West Side Story, his first major rôle with Pantheon.

His previous Pantheon rôles are many and varied, appearing as the ominous Ghost Of Christmas Future in Scrooge—The Musical (1999), a ballroom dancer and sinister Nazi in The Sound of Music (2000), the Corpse in Streuth! from The Great Coarse Acting Show (2000), the guitar-totin’ Narrator in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (2001), and in the company of the Kander and Ebb revue The World Goes ’Round (2000). He also played guitar for 2001’s Little Shop of Horrors, having been prevented from acting in it by an inconsiderate friend who chose to get married in the middle of the show’s run and asked Alan to be best man! Recently he played high priest Annas in our production of Jesus Christ Superstar (2003).

He escapes from all this theatrical excess in his day job, as a music instructor in Glasgow schools, and working as musical director of Glasgow Schools Youth Theatre.

Alan had returned to the stage after a 13-year absence in May 1998, as Captain Tempest in Return To The Forbidden Planet. This production was with the Fintry Amateur Dramatic Society, whom Alan wishes to thank most sincerely for re-iginiting a lifelong passion—and for introducing him to his fiancée!
