David Alexander Cooke
David’s first ever theatrical stage performance was in Pantheon’s April 2005 production of 42nd Street at the The King’s, Glasgow, in which he played the Doctor and was a tap-dancing and singing ensemble cast member.
Following the success of 42nd Street, David appeared in another Pantheon production in November 2005—Liz Lochhead’s Mary Queen of Scots Got Her Head Chopped Off, at Gilmorehill G12. During this production, David played a number of characters, including a Spanish Ambassador and a Murdering Mummer.
In April 2006, David again appeared at the Kings Theatre, Glasgow with Pantheon’s production of Calamity Jane, in which he played the Colonel and was a gun-toting Cowboy.
David switched from onstage to backstage in June 2006, working on props for Pantheon’s production of A Funny Thing Happened on The Way to The Forum at the The Citizens’ Theatre [citz.co.uk] and The Theatre Royal, Waterford [theatreroyalwaterford.com].
David is currently writing a musical based on backstage life during theatre productions—performers beware…
