Gillian Freshney

Gillian has been performing with Pantheon since she was 16 and has taken part in more than 30 shows. She has performed on the stages of The King’s, Glasgow, Theatre Royal, The Pavilion, The Edinburgh Playhouse and The Theatre Royal, Waterford [theatreroyalwaterford.com].

Some of her most memorable experiences include: playing Hortence in The Boyfriend, a ‘tart with a heart’ in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and a hen with a very generous rear in Honk!; reviving lost piano skills for Return to The Forbidden Planet (yes Mum, you were right, I should have kept practicing!) and achieving one of her dreams by playing a Soul Girl in our 2003 production of Jesus Christ Superstar.

Gillian has been Pantheon’s dance captain for the last few years which has brought challenges of its own. One of her proudest moments during 42nd Street was watching the company boys transform from total novices into convincing tap dancers in only 9 weeks!

Not content with performing on stage, Gillian takes a very active role in many other areas of Pantheon. Amongst her many talents she manages ticket sales for all of our productions, helps out with set building… and even sews a bit too.
