Kris Haddow
Kris joined Pantheon in 2003 appearing as an Apostle in Jesus Christ Superstar at The King’s, Glasgow; Bosun in Return to The Forbidden Planet at Gilmorehill G12 (and at the Waterford Festival in Ireland); Jack Warner and Gremio in Kiss Me Kate and Gerald Croft in An Inspector Calls at The Cottier Theatre. He is delighted to be back among friends, playing Benny in Rent, even if they do spend half their time taunting him. (His on-stage treatment isn’t much better.)
Performing regularly in and around Glasgow, Kris’s musical credits include Young Ben in Follies, Simon Stride in Jekyll & Hyde, Andrew Carnes in Oklahoma!, Perchik in Fiddler on the Roof, The Kralahome in The King and I, 3 runs as Noah Claypole in Oliver! (2000–2002), plus roles in La Cage aux Folles, Mack & Mabel, Me and My Girl and Copacabana.
Play credits include: Ewan Tavendale in Sunset Song, Reg/Lillian in Strike up The Banns, Freddy Eynsford-Hill in Pygmalion, Alec Morrison in Men Should Weep, Mort Hollander in California Suite, Charlie in On Golden Pond and Mr Kelvil in A Woman of No Importance.
Last year, Kris appeared in Scottish Ballet’s Romeo & Juliet in Glasgow and Edinburgh, and also Evita when the tour visited The King’s.
A keen soloist, Kris sang in Songs from The Shows at Dumfries Theatre Royal in 2002, and he was in a winner at their Music Festival in the millennium year. He also performed in The Sound of His Music at the Royal Concert Hall with the RSNO. Kris sings with several concert party groups, his favourite being an annual charity event hosted by Friends United.
Extra work includes several ‘blink-and-you’ll-miss-him’ appearances for short film and television, including Marcie’s Dowry for the BBC’s Tartan Shorts series, the second season of Sea of Souls, and an NHS Scotland advert for STV.
