Patricia Welch

Lorraine in Boogie Nights

Patricia’s first public appearance (apart from in the delivery room) was at the tender age of 5 when, in a little lurex number and sparkly tights, she played a piano duet with her sister. The lure of lurex is still strong! Some years later she joined a local amateur group, performing in various pantos and musicals and, latterly, producing their concert party and pantomime.

Patricia has taken on leading parts for Paisley Musical and Operatic Society and the Lyric as well as for Pantheon. Her favourite roles are cheese and pickle and tuna mayonnaise [groan!] She’s also quite enjoyed playing Miss Hannigan (Annie), Anna (The King and I) and Nancy (Oliver!).

Patricia would like to make it very clear that she has had to work very hard to capture the character of Dorothy Brock, an ageing, embittered diva. It did not, as rumour has it, come easily to her. [Flounces off stage right…]
