Sam Lapping
When Sam first got involved in 42nd Street, he thought there was a chance to resurrect a previous, though short lived, dancing career (Bernardo in West Side Story). So he readied his tap dancing shoes (well, he removed the studs from his old rugby boots). Alas, it was not to be!
Although this is his Pantheon debut, Sam has appeared in numerous musicals, reviews and concerts with various clubs in Glasgow. His theatrical career has taken him, in terms of rôles, from Scotland (Tommy in Brigadoon), to Siam (Lhun Tha in The King and I), Los Angeles (Stone in City of Angels), Oklahoma (Curly in Oklahoma), Argentina (Ché in Evita), London (Sweeney Todd in Sweeney Todd) and New York (Sky in Guys and Dolls).
Sam considers the rôles of Ché and Sweeney to be his most challenging to date, with the latter adding dramatically to the list of shows in which he has either been beaten up, killed off or both!
