Vincent McGread
Vincent recently joined Pantheon to play the role of Mr Birling in our November 2004 production of An Inspector Calls, staged at The Cottier Theatre. He trained as an actor in 1999, completing an NC in Theatre Arts at Langside College in Glasgow.
Vincent is an experienced actor, performing both for stage and screen. With Strathclyde Theatre Group, he has appeared as the Bishop De La Rochepozay in The Devils, Challoner in Trevor Griffiths’ Comedians, Giles Corey in The Crucible, Gordon Willis in Stephen King's The Incident, Claudius in Hamlet, and Joe in Tennessee Williams’ Not About Nightingales—all at the The Ramshorn Theatre, Glasgow. He has also appeared as The Keeper/The Bishop of Ely in Richard III with Rapture Theatre Company and Salzella in Maskerade with Sixty Watt Theatre Company, both at The Cottier Theatre. Other roles include Counsellor in Till Death Do Us Part, a Knight in King Lear at both the Old Fruit Market Theatre, Glasgow and The Royal Lyceum, Edinburgh.
Vincent’s film and television credits include the Bishop of London in The House That God Built and Headmaster in The Two Lives of Anthony Trollope, both for the BBC. He also played the Judge in Brian Devlin’s The Duel, the Detective in The Suspect, Death/The Grim Reaper in Godspew for Channel 4, and the Judge in the film From The Golden Temple to Caxton Hall, which was produced for the Indian film industry.
